Aurora, Ontario. December 4, 2008 -- For the fourth consecutive year State Farm® is the lead sponsor of the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) Campaign Checks Rewards Booklet. State Farm has been a proud supporter of the R.I.D.E program for eight straight years.
Each year police across Canada conduct road side spot and sobriety checks during the holiday season. Their goal is to reduce incidents of impaired driving from coast to coast. In 2006, there were almost 13,000 alcohol related motor vehicle convictions in Ontario alone. This proves there is a need to continue to bring awareness to a socially unacceptable and illegal activity that is responsible for so much damage and loss of life.
“As North America’s largest automotive insurer State Farm is proud to support initiatives that help keep families safe on our roadways and in their communities,” says Lauragaye Jackson, State Farm Canada’s Marketing Manager. “Our agents and employees wish to thank the local police services we partner with that help reduce incidents of impaired driving across Canada. We are pleased to support their efforts with the R.I.D.E Checks Rewards Booklet.”
Please be a good neighbour. Don’t drink and drive.
