Gordon and Michael Tessier fly their own plane filled with relief supplies to help earthquake victims
Aurora, Ontario. January 22, 2010 – State Farm agents Michael and Gordon Tessier have embarked on their own personal relief mission to Haiti to help the devastated victims of the recent earthquake.
The brothers are flying their own private plane laden with relief supplies to the ravaged nation. This isn’t the first time Gordon and Michael have come to the aid of victims of a natural disaster. They also dropped off medical supplies in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina hit.
"You can donate money, but we've got the skills, we're blessed with the ability to fly in Canada," said Michael, a former officer in the Canadian Forces, whose six-seater plane will carry the relief payload that includes medical supplies donated by friends, family and a local doctor and pharmacist.
They will fly into Nassau, Bahamas, where they will connect with Bahamas Habitat, a United States Christian organization that has been delivering medical supplies to Haiti and evacuating some people to the Bahamas.
Gordon Tessier operates his State Farm agency in St. Catherines, Ontario, while Michael’s office is located in Grimsby.
