Owens presented the grant to Bryan Cando and Xavier McLaughlin of Albion Neighbourhood Services & Boys and Girls Clubs, who submitted the grant application to State Farm’s Youth Advisory Board. Approximately 500 grant requests were received from across North America, with 73 organizations awarded with a Youth Advisory Board grant.
