Application Technical Help

Our application works running the newest or second newest browser version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Google Chrome.  For security reasons, the system will time out after 60 minutes of inactivity; so don't let a page sit for too long without taking action.

For help when applying, refer to the Help link in the upper right‐hand corner of the application.

Listed below are possible solutions if you may be experiencing technical difficulties.  Please complete these steps before reporting technical issues.

  • If you are copying and pasting résumé text to the résumé box at the end of the application, avoid special characters like single quotation marks, greater than and less than signs and back slashes.
  • Clear your Temporary Internet Files from your computer.
  • Enable cookies on your computer.
  • Avoid using menus to copy and paste text from your résumé. Instead, use the Ctrl-C (copy) and Ctrl-V (paste) shortcuts.
  • To view your most current application information or to update information, click the "Update/submit my online résumé" link after logging into the system.
  • Use the Help link within the employment application system. It is located at the top right corner of every page within the application and provides hints and tips on how to navigate and use the system.

If you are still experiencing difficulties after completing the steps above, please fill out our Technical Difficulties Reporting Form. This form will help us identify and correct issues with the system. Once you have completed the form, try completing the application using a different computer, such as your public library.
