Charitable funding is intended to advance access, equity, and inclusiveness while discouraging harmful discrimination based on age, political affiliation, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation or identity, or religious beliefs.

Through its various programs, State Farm® provides grants to registered Canadian charities. State Farm expects these organizations and their leadership to comply with all laws, to follow high ethical standards, and to have strong internal controls. This includes:

  • Mission statement outlining purpose and goals
  • Compliance with established guidelines for its charitable purposes
  • Business practices that monitor and enforce ethical standards of all persons associated with the organization
  • Satisfy appropriate background checks when children are included in programs
  • Good stewards of grant funds through internal controls and oversight
  • Adequate safeguards to avoid conflicts of interest
  • Eligible organizations

Our charitable contributions are awarded to:

  • Registered Canadian charities
  • Educational institutions
  • Government entities
  • Programs/organizations in Ontario, Alberta, and New Brunswick

State Farm does not fund:

  • Individuals seeking personal help or scholarships
  • Religious programs
  • Politically partisan programs
  • Organizations outside Canada

Applying for a Grant

Organizations that are aligned with the above mentioned focus areas and eligibility requirements can submit funding proposals for consideration. Your proposal should include:

  • Organization background/overview
  • Primary contact information
  • Detailed summary of the program/project being funded
    • Start and end date
    • Timeline of key activities by quarter
    • Budget of intended use of funds
    • Geographical area served

Proposal can be emailed to for consideration. The primary contact listed in the proposal will be contacted by a company representative within 15 business days regarding its status.
